Network Marketing Lead Generation Tip-How To Overcome Shyness and Generate Leads

As someone who has been in network marketing for awhile, I am sure you know that having a steady stream of mlm leads to talk to is important. For those of us who are shy, this does seem a bit daunting at times! The good news is that whether you are shy or not, it normal to have some fears about talking to prospects.

Today's network marketing lead generation tip involves steps to overcome your shyness
plus generate leads at the same time. In a recent newsletter, Tom Schreiter shares some great strategies you can use right away and get your mlm business moving in the right direction.

Are you shy? Welcome to being "normal."

Yes, we all have inner fears about talking to people when we have an agenda of trying to sell them something.

This is what happens when you talk to someone when you are not prospecting:

Because you have no agenda, because you are not trying to sign them up, you are relaxed. You are giving. You are helping. You are just interested in them, and it feels good, right?

But what happens when you have an agenda, go out to meet people to sell them into your business? Well, you feel fearful inside. Why? Because you don't have their best interests at heart. You are thinking more about your agenda than thinking about helping them.

So let's fix that. How about this?

Why not try to meet a lot of new people in person ... with no agenda! Just be interested in them. You will build a huge group of new friends and acquaintances. Then, when appropriate for them, you can tell them about your business or products.

Now if I wanted to meet new people, I think I would try to meet new people who want to go forward in their lives. Here is what you could do:

1. Join Toastmasters. You'll meet motivated people, and will learn a new skill.

2. Join all those free networking events in your area. Everyone will be passing out cards, but you'll be smart. Instead of meeting 40 people, you will build a relationship with two or three at each event.

3. Go to all those free introduction seminars where they try to sell you expensive real estate investing courses, etc. Make a friend or two among the people attending. They obviously want to move forward in their life.

4. Join an inexpensive heath club. Work out, get in shape. Meet other people who want to do the same.

5. Join the 5K walks or the 10K runs. These people like to do things.
Got the idea?

If you have no one now, don't worry. You are just beginning, and with a little time, you will have many warm market contacts. So don't feel bad if you don't have a huge influence with lots of people ... yet.

Just go to events like ones listed above. Meet people. Try to be helpful. And in time, you're going to have a huge list of people who respect you and would love to hear great ideas from you.

Remember, no agenda. Just meet and make a friend.

The worst that can happen is that you end up with a lot of great friends.

And the best that can happen is that meeting people becomes more natural for you. You soon realize that most people are afraid to approach you to be their friend and appreciate that you took the first step. So go out and mingle, have fun, learn new things, meet new friends ... and let's see what happens over the next 30 days.

And if someone does ask you about your business, you can quickly give them a "One-Minute Presentation" or tell them the "Two-Minute Story" and be done with it quickly. :)
