Big Al class: "Beyond closing!"
There are many levels of closing, and the higher the level, the more effective you can be.
Beginners are afraid to close because they don't understand how the human mind thinks. We all start at this level. Because we don't know what to say, we just talk and talk, and hope the prospect volunteers. Results from this approach are ... underwhelming.
Level one closing is talking to the conscious mind. This shows that we have no idea how a decision is made in our prospects' minds. It's embarrassing. Level one closing uses door-to-door sales closes from the 1950s, such as:
"Do you want to pay by cash or check?"
"Do you want to join now or next Tuesday?"
"What's it going to take to get you to get started today?"
"What part of my presentation did you like the best?"
"On a scale of one to ten, how do you see your enthusiasm?"
"Don't you love your family?"
"Any three-year-old can see this opportunity, do you have a problem with that?"
"What part of my presentation didn't you understand, so that I can repeat it to you more slowly?"
Yes, these are pathetic. And they should be rejected. They're anti-social to say the least.
As professional networkers, we'd never lower ourselves to this type of closing.
Level two closing is talking directly to the subconscious mind, and to the programs in the subconscious mind. I teach this at our SuperClosing workshops. It's a great way to close without rejection.
Level three closing is SuperClosing. That's where we really understand what triggers the buying decision in the subconscious mind. And the timing is crucial. When I do workshops on closing, we investigate the exact timing of the final decision by looking at everyday case studies. Our long-held beliefs about information are shattered.
