Blog Traffic-How to Succeed with A Blog

The Blog Business: How to Succeed with a Blog Network

It took you long, sleepless days of non-stop work to get your blog up and running. In your opinion, it’s a hit – with its nice, edgy design and your read-worthy entries, it’s got what every blog surfer could ask for. You’ve even set up ads on your blog, in the hopes that it will make you some extra money.

Unfortunately, after a week or so, you realize that your blog is not getting a lot of visitors. It might have to do with the fact that not a lot of people know about it to begin with – the only advertising that you’ve done for your blog is to post a few messages on your member forums, announcing that you have set up your official home on the web. Your posts might have invited a few internet surfers to click on over to your site, but you don’t think it’s enough, and that your blog deserves much more visitors than it is currently receiving.

The answer to your desire for increased blog traffic is in blog networks.

Simply put, a blog network is a wide number of different blogs, made by different individuals, that are linked together under one group. The usual purpose of teaming up with other blogs is so that the team’s or network’s member blogs are able to share the traffic among their blogs. When you sign up for a blog network, you are almost 100% assured that the traffic in your blog will increase.

From another perspective, a blog network is really a marketing tool for blogs, which allows blog authors to cross-promote each other. With the technology behind blogs, it’s easy to “endorse” another person’s blog, and vice versa – a simple comment or shout-out on a blog can be a starting point of cross-promotion deals, in which the blog’s author and the blog’s visitor can decide to provide a link of each other’s blogs on their own corresponding sites. Blog networks are made out of these activities.

How do you succeed with a Blog Network? First, you must look for a blog network whose member blogs have the same content or interests as yours. This way, you’ll know that the traffic you will get from these blogs are readers who are most likely interested in what you’re posting. The next thing to do is to make friends. See, the bottom line in succeeding with a blog network is that it is much like succeeding in your social networks: you must be able to let other blogs put in a good word for your blog. A simple concept, but definitely not as simple to pull off.

MLM Business Opportunities

Tom, Big Al, Schreiter, is one of my mentors. I am sure that for many people with mlm business opportunities, he is one person who they turn for tips and strategies to build a successful downline and business.

Today's tip is coming to you straight from Big Al. It hails from his 77 Prospecting Ideas series, which is free by the way. You can sign up for lots of freebies at his website.

I know you will enjoy the post!

Tip #69: Full-time? Or part-time?

Network marketing is a great addition to a regular
salary. Since the regular salary covers most of the
household expenses, the extra money from network
marketing can be used for:

* Vacations
* Nicer cars
* College education fund
* Investing
* Debt reduction
* Expensive hobbies
* Early retirement

However, many people want their network marketing
income to replace their regular salary, and often they
quit their jobs too soon. Here are some thoughts on
what happens:

"Nothing magical happens when you quit your job -
expect that your income disappears."
- Art Spikol

"Since I quit my j-o-b, I sleep like a baby. Every
three hours I get up and cry."
- Anonymous distributor

The moral is:

Let your network marketing income ENHANCE your life.

Tom "Big Al" Schreiter

P.S. When I meet new prospects, I give them a special
book that pre-sells them on network marketing. I
have used this book personally for four years, and
the results are excellent. You can read about this

MLM Business

Today's post is from one of my mentors, Mr. Michael Dlouhy. Michael is someone who has been in the mlm industry over 30 years and has experienced ups and downs before finding success.

Listen in as he explains why network marketers should look at Wal-Mart and what we can learn from their business model. Wal-Mart is very successful and what better company to learn from in order to conduct our mlm business better.

What Network Marketers Can Learn From The Walmart Business Model by Mr. Michael Dlouhy

What is the lifeblood of ANY business?

Answer: Product movement to the end consumer.

Have you read Sam Walton's autobiography? His vision, the business model he pioneered, was brilliant. Walton started Walmart & Sam's Club. He said, "We will be the largest retailer in the world".€ And he achieved this goal because he found a way to move product to the end consumer at the cheapest price. How did he do that?

Walton said, "Do people care when they buy their groceries whether there's an acoustical tile ceiling, or if they see roof rafters and white bar joists?รข€ The answer: They don't care. So he invented a business model where you have shelves with cases and cases and cases of soda pop.

In the evening, they bring that stuff down & fill the shelves. They stock the warehouse for ALL the manufacturing companies, saving those companies a TON of money.

Every Other Retailer Was Left In The Dust

He built massive warehouses around the world. Then he talked to Scott Tissues, Hershey's, Johnson & Johnson, Levis, all these companies: "Hey! Don't build expensive warehouses all over the place. Ship your products to MY warehouses, I'll store it. As we sell it, I'l pay you."

So when they scan that bar code, Scott Tissues knows Walmart sold 73 cases of paper towels today. The system tracks that sale. At the end of each day, Walmart sends each vendor the money.

Other retail outlets don't have the space or the vision to make that offer to suppliers. Instead, they buy the stuff in smaller quantity, store it in the back, and move it to the front as needed. There's no tall, tall, tall ceiling with products stacked way up above you. That's the way it's always been done. But that's not how Walmart does it.

Why Customers Choose Walmart

So Walmart & Sam's Club pay less for identical products than other retail outlets. And they can pass the savings on to consumers, attracting throngs of buyers to their stores.

How does Sam Walton make money with Sam's Club? Off the membership. Again, that and the warehousing of products allow them to sell at a very low price. It's in the business model. Whoever figures how to move product to consumers at the best price, wins. Sam Walton proved that point.

How did he do it? He cut the overhead for all those companies, his product suppliers!

How does this apply in network marketing? Look at every company, every compensation plan. Let's say every company pays out 50% of retail to reps. Each product, no matter the cost, they pay 50% commission.

You can only cut the pie so many ways. If you pay 50% commission on $79.95, or 50% commission on the identical product at $39.95. Do you think a $39.95 product makes it much easier to sell twice as much or 3 times as much?

Cut the overhead, and you have a better chance to sell that product. You're not just competing against other network marketing products. You're competing against Sam's Club & Walmart, too. Your business model better let you make a good offer to the consumer, or you will l never succeed.

Whatever network marketing company finds a way to move the product to the end consumer at the best price, wins. And that’s definitely who you want to build your future with.

Your friends for life,

Michael and Linda Dlouhy

Free Network Marketing Information-Blog Traffic Techniques

Today's free network marketing information post hails from a generous gentleman who has been helping me improve my article writing skills and has been critiquing my work. He knows his stuff and if you are someone who desires to get more blog traffic and traffic to your other websites, you'll want to pay attention to what he has to say!

I highly respect him, Mr. Richard Dennis. Here is a great article he wrote about how to get Google to drool over your articles!

Blog Traffic Techniques by Richard Dennis

If you’ve done an analysis of Google Drools, you know we have a content advertising system that can get #1 rankings on Google searches almost at will. Some search engine results really tickle me. Click on this writing niche article I submitted a couple days ago:

Plan for Writing Good Articles

It’s #1 on Google … against over 30 MILLION competing pages! But I digress.

A big part of my productivity optimization plan has been to post unique, targeted articles at a popular website with a proven strong connection to Google - like EzineArticles.com. Ultimately, you want to build your blog into that type of high quality, interactive, authority website, with lots of inbound links.

As with any marketing promotion, this one needs to be tested and measured and proven. Recently, I’ve seen a not-very-well-known blogger get high Google rank on a moderately competitive keyword by publishing a simple post with (1) good latent semantic indexing and (2) a keyword-rich title.

That tactic is pretty exciting, because those 2 performance factors are certainly the easiest to achieve. Becoming a visible and recognized authority website with a ton of inbound links will definitely take longer. If you can skip that qualification, then you can have profitable results much sooner.

And that’s the focus of this post. My blog is certainly not a branded authority resource to Google. Net Traffic Machine is still only a couple months’ old. It only has a couple dozen posts.

And so THIS post is a mission to test whether NTM can achieve high Google rank for the keyword phrase blog traffic techniques. Can this signature blog content beat out 681,000 other references for top rank for this keyword phrase? If so, that is a strong indication that ranking success can come much quicker than anticipated.

Also … the importance of a high Google listing is that:

  1. You’re not paying for it, because you’re showing up in natural search, not Google Adwords.
  2. The prospects who find you are pretty much your perfect audience, because you have chosen a title that demonstrates exactly what you offer them, and they are searching for that exact product or service, or something very close to it. Sounds to me like a match made in heaven.

Why This Blog Title?
Look at this data for Google searches done today (3/23/09):

Keyword Phrase Raw Results Exact Match (”KP”)
blog traffic 45,500,000 1,090,000
blog traffic techniques 681,000 701
blog traffic strategy 5,530,000 2,360
blog traffic system 15,600,000 860
blog traffic tips 16,400,000 74,800
blog traffic guide 21,000,000 2,050
blog traffic ideas 6,920,000 123
blog traffic program 21,400,000 2,170
blog traffic tactics 334,000 539
blog traffic methods 1,040,000 1,960
blog traffic tutorial 306,000 143

Raw Results is a normal Google search for the phrase. These results contain the search words somewhere on the results page.
Exact Match means the keyword phrase was searched with quotation marks, pulling up only pages containing that exact phrase.

Conclusions:
Consider the statistics difference between “blog traffic” and the others. Obviously, more pages will contain your 2-word phrase than your 3-word phrase. Plus … more searchers will enter a 2-word phrase than a 3-word phrase. The shorter your keyword phrase, the more searchers you’ll appeal to … but the more competition you’ll have, and the more difficult it will be to be ranked on the first page of Google results. There is no chance I’d get 1st page Google results for “blog traffic.” But choosing “blog traffic techniques” thins out the competition, but still gives me a short phrase that is likely to result in substantial popular searches.

And it’s not like the competitors are a bunch of rabid football fans or political strategists or underwater basket weavers. THESE people are webmasters and online marketers. These guys know the difference between Cpanel and HTML and RSS and SEO. They’ve studied and often gotten very good at optimizing their website traffic.

But my thinking is that there is less competition for this keyword phrase than several others on the list. So I’ll test this one first … then, if successful, go after the others one-by-one.

Optimizing the Article
I feel like I’ve talked Latent Semantic Indexing to death. If you haven’t heard the audio Google Drools, then opt-in to the right of this post, get a copy of the audio, and listen to it.

There’s just no debate that Google really values proper LSI in your articles. You can’t do keyword stuffing (many repetitions of the same keyword) - you’ll get penalized for that. But using a number of closely related words in your articles is an effective way of demonstrating to Google that this is an authority article.

Creating The Buzz
The Net Traffic Machine website was inspired by Charles Heflin’s work at Social Media Science. Charles has developed software to make it easy to promote your blog posts through social networks, getting more attention. If you haven’t read Charles’ Syndication Revelation, I highly recommend it.

So … I’m targeting this blog post for a high Google rank for the phrase blog traffic techniques. Stay tuned over the next couple weeks to see how this all works.

Free Network Marketing Information-Prospecting Tip

This is a great idea to spread the word about your home business and to get more prospects interested in what you do.

I have to admit I had not thought of this. You can begin to use this free network marketing tip today.

Once again, Tom Schreiter is sharing this information based on what a rep is doing successfully to build their home based business.

Neat prospecting idea.

At a recent workshop, one attendee passed on the
following tip:

"Go register at classmates.com to drive traffic to your
website. Your classmates will click on your website
link to see what you're up to."

So, I went to classmates.com and found out that you can
register for free, but the "gold membership" is $36 a
year.

Still, that might be worth just one hot prospect who
joins, depending on the size of your class, right?

But even with the free membership, current gold members
can send you an e-mail -- and you can pick up with your
old friends for free.
